Hey everyone, welcome back ! Today, we’re continuing my minimalist capsule wardrobe for the Kibbe types series with a focus on the Flamboyant Natural.

This wardrobe guide is not exhaustive. It doesn’t cover professional or seasonal attire, though I plan to address those in a future series. Instead, I want to give you key insights and styling tips to help you build a versatile, balanced wardrobe that works with your natural lines. No matter your personal style, there’s always a way to make it work for you.

Plunge and Surplice Tops

A deep, angular plunge enhances the shoulder line by creating a triangular shape, adding movement and structure.

For a more relaxed look, opt for a button-down shirt worn unbuttoned at the top. Layering a piece underneath offers more coverage while maintaining a vertical, lengthening effect. A crossover surplice top in a matte, non-clingy fabric is another great option, avoiding excess cinching that disrupts elongation.

One-Shoulder Tops

One-shoulder tops add dynamic movement and a sense of freedom, making them a better option than off-shoulder styles.

Some styles have a clean, structured look, while others feature ruffled details. If you opt for ruffles, make sure they are proportionate to your height. Sarah Jessica Parker, who is petite, can wear smaller ruffles, while someone taller like Cameron Diaz benefits from larger, more dramatic ruffles to maintain balance.

Halter Tops

A well-structured halter top with a deep plunge is an excellent choice. A design with built-in details like ruching or beading adds even more movement. Michelle Obama has been seen in stunning halter styles that emphasize the shoulders and neckline beautifully.

For a softer look, a ruched halter in a more relaxed fabric works well. Petite individuals like Amy Adams can wear smaller ruching details without overwhelming their frame.

Relaxed Trousers

Flamboyant naturals need a sense of movement in their outfits, so trousers should never be too straight or stiff. A relaxed linen trouser, denim with subtle whiskering, or even a bootcut trouser helps maintain that effortless flow.

Sleek Pencil Skirts

A pencil skirt with a strong, solid shape adds balance to a wardrobe full of relaxed silhouettes. The material should be structured and not overly ruched to maintain elongation. Adding contrasting pieces like this makes the wardrobe more versatile and adaptable.

Shirt Dresses

A relaxed shirt dress with a collar is a great staple. For a longer version, look for a dress with a slightly lifted collar, a bold belt, and an elongated yet relaxed skirt. If going shorter, a looser, more relaxed fit works well. Belting is optional, but it can help define the silhouette.

Relaxed Jumpsuits

Material choice is key for a jumpsuit. The fabric should drape downward rather than creating horizontal volume. It should move with the body rather than feeling stiff or overly structured.

Oversized Blazers

An oversized blazer is a must. A denim or quilted blazer works for a more casual approach, while a traditional blazer can be dressed down with a belt and paired with a relaxed dress. The shoulders should be crisp, and the blazer should be slightly longer for the best effect.

Belted Coats

A belted coat adds balance without overwhelming the wardrobe. A super wide, long, and boxy coat would be harder to style with other pieces, making it less versatile. Instead, a belted coat with a slight flare at the bottom creates movement without being too tight or structured. A matte or slightly rough material works best. The belt should taper the waist slightly rather than creating a cinched effect.
