Guide to the Bright Spring Seasonal Color Palette

The Bright Spring Seasonal Color Palette

In the 12 Seasonal Color System, Bright Spring (or Clear Spring) is a season dominated by brightness and clarity, high contrast, and warmth (Bright and Warm). Bright Spring falls between Bright Winter (Bright and Cool) and True Spring (Warm and Bright). The palette focuses on colors with high chroma (far from very muted), a range of moderate to light values, with an emphasis on the warmer hues (reds, oranges, yellows, and greens). As this season resides between Winter and Spring, the warmth still retains a bit of Winter’s crispness.

Overall, the palette is radiant like concentrated sunshine and as colorful as the flora and fauna of the rainforest.

Bright Spring Skin Tone and Hair Color

Bright Spring natives can possess neutral to neutral-warm skin with undertones of apricot, peach, gold, and caramel. Their hair is richly pigmented with tints of warm gold, red, and warm brown. Overall, Bright Spring contrast is very high and the most prominent aspect to their overall coloring is the brightness and vibrancy of their pigmentation. Bright Springs have a special glow akin to the rising sun.

Compared to Bright Winter, Bright Spring is warmer and more radiant thanks to the nature of their warmer hues (warm colors tend to give off more of a fiery glow than cool colors). Compared to True Spring, Bright Spring is more crisp and intense with a little less warmth.

Bright Spring Celebrities

Possible Bright Spring celebrities include Emma Stone, Solange, Heather Graham, Edy Ganem, Ni Ni, Kerry Washington, Rose McGowan, and Jennifer Hudson.

Bright Spring Colors

Bright Spring Neutrals and Colors to Avoid

Bright Spring neutrals lean warm, including ivories and creams, warmer beiges and light taupes, to camels, caramels, and finally, deep olives and browns.

Bright Springs will maintain the full potency of their glow by avoiding colors that are too cool, dark, and muted.

Bright Spring Metals, Stones, and Materials

Bright Springs look best in shining yellow, white, and rose golds with silver still a viable option so long as it is very polished and bright. Very textured, antiquated, or matte finishes will look too heavy or rough for their crystalline warmth.

Highly prismatic and polished gemstones with intense and bright, slightly warmer tones like emerald, pink rubies, red rubies, carnelian, tourmaline, and aquamarine will support their color palette beautifully.

When considering materials, Bright Springs can lean into their vibrancy and high definition by exploring brocades, embroidered prints, brightly dyed organza and tulle, and very shiny silks.

Makeup Looks for Bright Springs

Bright Springs can really elevate a natural look by ensuring that their skin is even and glowing, erring on the slightly dewy side. Highlighter and shimmer work well to support their high contrast glow, as do well-defined brows and eyes. Blush and sheer or lightly glossy lip color adds warmth, whereas matte bronzer adds weight and may look muddled unless the color leans warm and the application is paired with enough illuminator.

Bright Springs can create a dramatic look by playing with color- highly contrasting eyeshadows like electric blue and metallic charcoal light up their eyes, while bright fuchsia, hot pink, or fire engine red define their eyes with crisp warmth. When using this decisive and concentrated application of color on the features, less blush is required. Still, there is an emphasis on skin as a flawless canvas.
