Exploring Cognitive Types and Style: ESTPs and ESFPs

Welcome back. I’m excited to bring you the third video in my series exploring the connections between cognitive types and personal style. In this video, we’ll dive into the style of SE leads: the ESTPs and ESFPs.

Disclaimer

Before we get into the material, I want to clarify that I exclusively use the database from vultology.com. I find this system consistent and dependable, and I highly recommend you check it out. Please note that this system is distinct from MBTI, Socionics, etc.

ESTP Style: Athletic and Sensual

Gabby Douglas

Our first example of an ESTP, characterized by lead SE (extroverted sensing), is the incredibly athletic Gabby Douglas. The outfits that really shine on her and celebrate her persona are simple yet sensual, often flashy or revealing. These clothes are body-hugging, playing with the light as she moves, and still rugged and durable. Nothing about these looks is delicate or frilly, which makes sense for someone so engaged with their physical environment. The SE function makes ESTPs very tactile and present, often choosing outfits that are provocative and attention-grabbing. The playful FE (extroverted feeling) slot may also influence their tendency to choose outfits that are a bit more daring or provocative.

Alicia Atout

Next, we have Alicia Atout. Her best outfits are also simple but sensual, flashy, and body-bearing. They drape beautifully over her body, emphasizing her athletic and lively persona. These outfits are fun and can withstand a bit of roughhousing, reflecting her dynamic and physical nature. Like Gabby, Alicia’s style embodies the ESTP’s love for engaging with their environment in a tactile and immediate way.

Madison Beer

Madison Beer’s casual outfits are simple, sensual, and drapey, with a body-bearing quality. Her more dressy outfits are also simple and body-bearing, with clean lines and durable materials. She often wears the same outfits as another famous ESTP, Beyoncé, who, along with Rihanna, is also typed as an ESTP in the vy.com database. Their styles can be described as “lingerie meets streetwear,” blending sensuality with a touch of ruggedness. This style perfectly encapsulates the ESTP’s ability to mix practicality with a bold, eye-catching aesthetic.

Here are some of my favorite outfits. Simple but sensual with a little texture. I don’t love anything complicated as that hinders my movements. I also can’t handle anything too delicate as it will be destroyed somehow!

ESFP Style: Cheerful and Classic

Dakota Fanning

Our first ESFP example is Dakota Fanning. Her outfits are sensual but tend more towards a classic style – fresh, feminine, and harmonious. Compared to ESTPs, ESFPs have a more inward sensuality, considering how the clothes feel on them rather than how they appear to others. Dakota’s style is polite, light, cheerful, and dainty, perfectly capturing the ESFP essence. The SE (extroverted sensing) in ESFPs makes them highly aware of their immediate physical environment, while their FI (introverted feeling) helps them choose outfits that feel authentic and true to their personal values.

Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter looks lovely in harmonious and classic outfits, often with a sentimental vibe. Her best looks channel a specific era or aesthetic out of emotional resonance, adding a touch of nostalgia to her style. This sentimental approach is a beautiful manifestation of the ESFP’s ability to connect emotionally with their fashion choices, often reflecting a deeper personal significance.

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley’s best outfits are cheerful, sweet, fresh, and traditionally feminine. They are balanced, harmonious, and polite. A simple sundress encapsulates her vibe or energy really well, making her look effortlessly beautiful. The ESFP’s strong sense of individuality and personal expression shines through in Keira’s style, which is always inviting and warm.

Style Examples for ESTPs and ESFPs

ESTP Style:

  • Drapey, simple mini dress
  • Drapey cross-front halter top with a fun tie at the back
  • Simple flare jeans
  • Fun suede tassel heels

These outfits, which I own variations of, are perfect for the stylish, athletic, and sensual ESTP. They combine practicality with a touch of flair, ideal for someone always on the move.

ESFP Style:

  • Sensual but soft sundress
  • Classic Mary Janes

These pieces, with a touch of vintage charm, reflect the cheerful and classic style of the ESFP. They are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, fitting well with the ESFP’s harmonious and emotionally resonant approach to fashion.

Thank you for tuning in! I hope you enjoyed exploring the styles of ESTPs and ESFPs with me. See you in the next video!
